Could I have an epidural headache?

I gave birth a little over 3 weeks ago.  I have had a severe headache everyday since then.  I have just found out that epidurals can cause persistant headaches.  What are other symtoms of this problem and should I be concerned and contact a local doctor?

i also had an epidural in the lower back and got severe migrain for 2 weeks later.  i ended up having a slight stroke

Epidural catheters/injections can cause a spinal fluid leak if there was mild injury to the normal layer of tissue that holds the spinal sac (which includes the spinal cord and spinal fluid) when the catheter was placed. A typical symptom is a positional headache in which you get pain when you sit or stand, but it's ok with lying flat. If this is indeed the problem, then you may need an epidural patch theat is easily done by an anesthesiologist or some neurologists.  A more serious cause of headache after delivery is due to clotting of a vein in your brain leading to stroke.  Usually this is accompanied by some neurological deficit such as weakness on one side or seizures or vision loss. Start with your primary care doc. You may need a neuro referral and imaging studies. GOod luck.
