DIZZYNESS, HEAD AND NECK PAIN

I recently had an accute case of dizzyness lasting about 3-5mins, sensitive to light and after words, neck and headace (ocipital). I was worried about having a TIA,  I  went to the ER,  nuro check was fine, labs normal, CT normal,
The physican was also worried about TIA.  My cholesterol is about 200-210 range. LDLD 100-120, HDL 35.
GLU 94, NA 140, K 4.4, CL 103,  CK 244, PRETTY MUCH NORMAL. CBC ALSO W/IN NORMAL RANGE.

I haven't had another dizzy attack, but feel like I'm in a daze.  Mild head/neck pain Ears slightly plugged,
Currently on 81mg of asperin as a pre-causion
and also omega3, multi-vitamins.

Do you think that I had an tia, or optic-migrain?

thanks,

mt

The past several days I have experience a weird thing. Sitting at the edge on my bed I feel like I am going to fall off. The others times it happens I feel light headed.
I am worried about driving having this issues. They last about 3-5 minutes. I can't look up for fear I am going to have one.
I live alone so know one would know if I had fallen or not. I have Chiari Malformation decompressed surgery in 2001. My ears ring all the time. My cousin thinks it is due to stress. I get ill more at the end of the month. Because I am usually broke. But like right now I have so much pressure and pain in the back of my neck. Yesterday I just took it easy and rest as I did today. The Vertigo really scares me as well. Can you give me some advice? I am seeing a new neurosurgeon on Wednesday. Thank you

Hi,

It would be very difficult to say for sure about whether this was optical migraine or TIA.

You could get a complete neurological examination done to rule out any other cause and also to find out the cause of your current symptoms including the headache, earache and neck pain.

Is your blood pressure in the normal range?

Let us know about what the neurologist advises and post us about how you are doing.

Regards.

i think you had an optic-migraine, unless you experienced neurologic deficits like numbness/weakness on one side of the body or the face. your labwork looks ok though. you mentioned "plugged ears". try to have your ears checked, because one cause of dizziness might be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, which is dizziness associated with rapid head movement and is caused by fluid imbalances in the inner ear.
