Does chronic muscle pain come from benign fasciculations?

About three months ago my left triceps muscle developed a twitch.  It was in the same spot, affecting maybe a third of the muscle.  It kept going for about two weeks off an on throughout the day.

I had no loss in strength and if I used the muscle the twitch went away.  It was only when slack that the twitches occurred.  And it was pretty much just in one place, though I would get other twitches in other times, but they lasted a few times and were gone (normal muscle twitches).  I also had no stiffness in that muscle.  Muscle performs great!

But soon after the triceps twitches stopped, I got a muscle ache in the same spot.  It's been there about two months.

The pain fluctuates during the day, being worse late at night.  I have no spasms there, no loss in strength, no stiffness.  When I flex the muscle the pain goes away, but comes back when the muscle is slack.  It works just as well as the other triceps, it just has one area that has a deep ache in it.

Its annoying, and kinda weird.  Pain is usually about a 3-4, so it's not agonizing, but it's distracting.  Taking ibuprofen reduces it, but doesn't eliminate it.

And now I'm wondering if it's something serious.  I figured after all that twitching that the soreness was like caused by overuse.  But this pain has been going on for two months now, it should have healed up.  I've had no further twitching.  If I massage the muscle it seems to get better for a few minutes, but the pain always comes back.

Some background: A few months ago I was dealing with parasthesia in places all over my body, and some tremors and unsteadiness.  Went to a neurologist, had an MRI, had an EMG and nerve conductivity testing done.  Everything was normal.  Did find out that I had been taking too much zinc supplementation for a few years (don't ask) and since too much zinc reduces copper, I dropped the zinc and started taking copper.  All my parasthesias and tremors went away.  The twitch in my triceps showed up weeks after all this.  I'm still taking the copper, as well as B12 and other B-vitamins, Vitamin D, and Vitamin E.

From googling it appears I may have Benign Fasciculation Syndrome as it also describes continual twitching and pain.  But it reads like you have the pain at the same time as the twitching, which is not my case.

Any idea why that one part of that one muscle hurts all the time?  BFS?  A co-worker thinks it's Lyme disease, but I'm skeptical.

Any insight into BFS and constant muscle pain would be helpful!

Edit for clarification: I meant to say I get occational muscle twitches in *other muscles* at other times that are normal.
