Eagles Syndrome Symptoms

Just wondering if there is anyone out there from Nova Scotia, Canada, that has been diagnosed with Eagles Syndrome.  

Also, I was wondering if anyone who has Eagles experiences dizziness and extreme head pain all day, every day, 24/7 and if so....what helps with the pain?  I am currently on Dilaudid and Medicinal Weed, Tylenol, (and Ibuprofen when my stomach can handle it).  

I don't get to see an ENT until June 1st.  And oh, I've had 3 rounds of Botox injections but pain is still unmanageable.  

I've had 3 Radiologists say YES I have Eagles but 2 Oral & Maxiofacial Surgeons say NO.  I've been passed back and forth to so many specialists that I don't know what to do any more.

Any help and/or support would be greatly appreciated as I've been in pain now for 10 years.

I was just diagnosed with Eagle Syndrome.  5 years ago I developed a headache and last year I stopped being able to swallow meat, pasta or bread without choking.  The doctors told me that I needed to chew better.  As if I had forgotten how to eat after 36 years.  I developed a severe earache a few months ago and every doctor I saw including 2 emergency room physicians told em to take claratin or zyrtec and that i would be fine, even though I was so dizzy I could not walk without falling and the room kept spinning.  I have been treated for everything from hiatal hernia to TMJ.  Finally an ENT correctly diagnosed me.  I have yet to have surgery, but feel so much better that my symptoms were finally validated by someone competent.  He is not familiar with the surgery as this syndrome is so rare but we are in the process of finding someone to help me.  If anyone knows an ENT in NC that is capable of this surgical technique, I would be so grateful!

I have not been diagnosed by an ENT yet, a dentist found my eagle.I am lightheaded all the time. Feel like Im always going to fall over, and feel like im choking. I have horrible anxiety from all of this. Also there is pain and other discomforts but the choking and lightheadedness are the worst. It is very depressing

Hi, I have been just diagnosed,, I  have a swelling in my left arm, numbnes in my jaw adn spreads to my other side at times or up to my eyes plus  red eyes, sinis at night big time,when the side of my neck aches it gets hot also,, I usually take a couple of Tylenol or toradol and Hot moist heat in the area and go to bed at night, when it flares up my pressure goes up also,, I am looking for a physiotherapist to help me,, I am trying at all cost to avoid surgery or injections because of reading and seeing that some have the symtoms again after surgery..  I knwo there is a doc in Halifax that is another person is seeing and physio seems to be workig for him so I may try also.. C

Eagle syndrome is an aggregate of symptoms caused by an elongated ossified styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament, the cause of which remains unclear in your head so you have to do a CT scan to find out if you have any connecting head lesions/ elongation of styloid.
Diagnosis is important for any treatment.
Pain on turning head , Pain on extending tongue , Throat pain ,Facial pain ,Foreign body sensation in throat and Headache  are common symptoms.
Every individual has different symptoms and this is a rare disease so do not confuse with other patients and their symptoms.
You can go for a surgery and the options would be given by your throat surgeon.
