Electric Shock through body

Ok, I'm a 27 yeard old male 5'10 180 lbs. I'm in fairly good shape and exercise 5 times a week. About a week ago I started experiencing what I can best describe as electric shock like feelings throughout my entire body, literally from head to toe. When it happens it lasts for a second, maybe 2 and goes away. Sometimes it happens every 1 minute for a few minutes, at other times I dont feel it for what feels like hours at a time. Like I stated, I have felt it every place on the body I can possibly feel it. It does not cause me any pain, I have not expereienced any numbness or tingling. The only other symptom I have displayed which I still have to this day is a stuffy nose. I have had an increased amount of stress and anxiety in my life for the past few weeks, but I don't think that can cause this, or at least I dont think it can. What can this be? What are some of the things that can cause this electric shock like feeling? Thanks.

It does sound sound like L'Hermitte's to me, but of course it could be something else entirely.  I would not ignore it.  Go to the doctor, as I said before, a neurological exam could either rule out or confirm something going on with the spinal cord.  An abnormal neuro exam will often prompt MRI imaging to check for any abnormalities within the spinal cord or the brain.

Are there any other possibilties? Is this what you feel is most likely the cause of this?

It sounds like you may be experiencing something called L'Hermitte's Syndrome. The electric shock sensation in L'Hermitte's is triggered by flexing your neck to forward,(chin to chest). When L'Hermitte's is present is can indicate different things possibly going on with the spinal cord. L'Hermitte's  can indicate something serious or something simple such as a B-12 deficiency. If I were you, I would get a neurological exam soon, just to be on the safe side.  Good Luck.
