Extreme vertigo after Brain surgery

My husband had a sub ependymoma tumor removed from the center of his brain. It is very rare for a man of 29 to have this type of tumor. His surgery was in January, he has had extreme vertigo 24 hours a day since his surgery. His neurosurgeon cant figure out the problem, we were sent to see a ENT but it isn't an  inner ear problem. He is limited to his chair because he is so dizzy we really need some advise, we will be meeting with a neurologist soon. PLEASE HELP!

Can you mention if the cerebellum was normal on MRI. Was an MRI done after the surgery ? Injury to cerebellar tissue can also present as imbalance, especially when the inner ear problem is ruled out.

Thank you for your response:) When he is sitting completely still the vertigo is almost non existent but as soon as he moves in any way, turning his head walking or riding in the car he gets extremely dizzy. He says it feel like a swirling in his head. Thanks again

Hello.

Since your husband is having the vertigo after the surgery, we can consider it to have originated during the surgery. The surgery procedure might have damaged certain nerve fibers concerned with balance.

A proper neurological examination at the neurologist's office will help a lot.

Roes he have the vertigo in the sitting and supine positions, too ?
