dizziness

I have been taking 100 grams of modafinil pills for about 2 weeks to get through exams and now that I have stopped taking anything, I am experiencing constant dizziness. I am wondering whether I should wait this out or whether I need to see a doctor asap....
Thank you

My experience with vertigo is so bad! The first time I saw my ENT vertigo, I told her I tried Dramamine, etc., Luckily. So he prescribed me meclizine. The dizziness gets worse, I cough harder, as if I were drunk and using amphetamines

Hi there. Modafinil or provigil is a central nervous system stimulant and much abused. This can produce euphoria, it can be abused for a high sensation particularly by students as stimulants for staying up all night for exams. There are certain common side effects associated with its use like headache, dizziness, difficulty in falling asleep, drowsiness, nausea, heartburn, confusion and burning, tingling and numbness of skin. There could be certain withdrawal symptoms associated with it. Dizziness could be part of this sudden stopping of the drug. Consult a neurologist for the needful. Hope this helps. Take care.

Dr Sharma, im sorry but this comment is slightly misleading and almost sounds like you are reading from a script. Most if not all of Modafinil users, use it off label for genuine cognitive enhancement. Its very unlikely to produce a "high" euphoria. This can maybe only happen in heavy doses (above 350mg) because the drug is a weak D2 agonist and re uptake inhibitor and using at heavy doses has to many side effects and let to mention its very expensive to abuse this drug. Some experience anti depressant effects when they take there first few doses- but it goes away and never comes back. Its not labeled as a stimulant - but father a wakefulness promoting agent. And truly bad withdraw only appears with chronic high doses. Modafinil is not addictive and doesn't have a big abuse potential.
