HEEL NUMBNESS

Around 10 years ago I began on walking, experiencing nerve pain under my foot.  This has now progressed, very slowly but surely to a numbness and ache.. centrered under my heel to the middle of my foot... I also have early stages of the process in my other foot as well.. A few years ago I went to the GP re this, and he sent me to a Physician who shrugs his shoulders and thought I  was imagining it,, or at least gave me that impresssion. I have not being back to Drs to investigate this further... Are u able to give me an indication of what is happening here, and if I should bother to seek further Medical advise... thanku

Pain, tingling and numbness are signs of neuropathy. Nerve involvement may be single (mono-neuropathy) or multiple (poly-neuropathy).
This neuropathy can be due to Diabetes, Prediabetes, Vitamin deficiency, and altered blood pressure status, any nutritional deficiency, and abnormal endocrine status, compression of nerve or impingement of nerve at time of exit from Vertebrae.
You should be doing HbA1C, ESR, serum protein/immuno-electrophoresis, and vitamin B12, BUN, and creatinine levels.
I think you should be consulting a neurologist and discuss regarding imaging study and your pathology of numbness.

hi, please consult Orthopedic surgeon or Neurologist for the diagnosis.
As there are number of possibilties ranging from neuropathy to planter fascitis.
Are you diabetic?
