Hello, all!
It has been about 4.5 weeks since I was assaulted. I was hit multiple times in my face, resulting a bruised left side of my face, black left eye, and potentially broken nose. I was hit on the left side of my head really hard and kicked on the top of my head multiple times including my forehead. I am a 35 year old male. Very healthy.
I felt fine for the first 1.5 weeks, and then the vision in my left eye started getting worse at a distance. If I squint really hard, it’s crystal clear. I saw an ophthalmologist and he said there was zero damage to my eyes overall, however, I did have cataracts in my left eye already, it appears that they may have gotten a little worse due to the incident.
The top of my head seems to be the spot where the “tightness” is originating from, and the left side of my head as well. It feels like I have a dull pain in my sinuses or my brain. I honestly can’t tell, it just annoys me. It does feel like everything is just healing. I have gone on one jog since, and two days ago, I went to a trampoline park with my kid and had no issues just mildly jumping around with him. The pain and vision are pretty constant and aren’t getting worse or better. I have not had any vomiting, dizziness, loss of consciousness, complete loss of vision, vertigo etc.
I’m just curious if you guys think that the nerves are potentially healing and that is what is causing this “tightness” in my head, or is because of the sudden degradation in my vision? My right eye sees 20/15 without squinting at all, and my left was as well prior to this. Am I out of the woods of fearing of a brain bleed? I’m hoping this was just a concussion and that my head will heal completely with no long term, permanent complications. I have been talking with a nurse practitioner that focused in neurology because I can’t get into the doctor right yet. She said she doesn’t seem too worried about it, but keep monitoring for another 1.5 weeks or so.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
