How safe is tapping post burr hole surgery for subdural hametoma

my mother is 80 yrs old , frail, diabetic and hypertensive, she had a burr hole surgery to treat subdural haemetoma on the 5th October.  Subsequently tapping had to be done on the 15 th Oct and 17th Nov. Post surgery and post tapping only medication given to her is CEFTUM 500 OD.
My question is : how safe is repititive tapping in her case ?
What are the precautions ang recomendations ?
Can any kind of oral medication help ?
