I felt a pop followed by pain on my sinus / cheekbone, what could it be?

I grind my teeth at night, have sinus problems in the winter, wear old glasses that don't fit much anymore and rest on my cheekbone, and have lots of anxiety.

On Saturday, I had a small panic attack, most of it induced by way to much coffee (I had a date later that night and didn't want to be tired!). I breathed through the panic attack, but the mix of anxiety and coffee made me want to grind my teeth while I was awake! Instead, I opened my jaw REALLY wide, like I was trying to stretch out the stress and tightness in my jaw.

Then BOOM.

I felt pain right on my cheek bone, right where my sinuses are, as well.

The sharp pain was brief, then eased into a dull ache the rest of the night, until a mixture of alcohol and ibuprofen knocked all the pain away.

Today is Tuesday. I had NO pain at all in my face since the incident. But I wore my glasses today and now that part of my face is achy again.

What was this? Did my sinus pop? Was it the trigeminal nerve flaring up due to high anxiety, stress? Or maybe my super stressed and tight jaw?

I don't have health insurance, but will see a doctor if this gets worse. Just wondering if I should expect it to worsen or be fine.

Thanks!
