Involuntary body spasms/ jerking

I have myoclonic type jerks at night but have now developed jerking/ body spasms during the day.  My head will suddenly jerk towards the left or my back will jerk. The effect seems to be worse for observers than for me!  What could be the cause?  About thirty years I had a road traffic accident and had back spasms for several years afterwards.  The jerking is similar but without the pain.  Does anyone have any similar experience?

You need a full work up from a neurologist. This symptom could be indicative of some nerve problem.

Hi,

I am taking lots of medication for other conditions but not for this. This seems to fall between different doctors!

Cheers
