Is it anxiety, fibromyalgia, lyme disease or MS

I have been posting messages since June 2010 on various health forums to get to the bottom of my problem. Hitherto no joy except for being told that I was a hypercondriac. I am trying my luck once again here.

I am 52 old man with over three years is constant prickling, burning, tingling and insect crawling feeling all over body and it is getting worse. I saw 4 Neurologists, had 5 MRIs (June 10 to May 13), 2 EMG/NCSs, 1 EEG, 1 SSEP and 1 LP. All came back negative except for O Bands found in CSF not in the blood. I have been posting my symptoms on various Forums, but almost all the responses are pointing to anxiety or stress. Please trust me, I know my body very well and my pain is very, very severe and unbearable at times. I don't think that anxiety or stress could be the only reason for these worsening neurological pain. Any advise please?

Another possibility is vitamin deficiencies. There is something called formication. Look it up. It is the bug feelings. Have you had your vitamin levels checked?  What about your b12?  You would be surprised to know  what vitamin or nutritional deficiencies you have that causes pain, burning, skin crawling and other things. Look into it.

I've had the same sensations. I was told everything from nerve damage, pinched nerve, to shingles.
YES! There is a type of shingles where there is NO rash.
It feel like a tag ( from a shirt ) is rubbing against your skin. Then you begin to get itchy, but if you scratch it hurts or burns. The area also feels sort of numb, like when you go to the dentist and he freezes your mouth. Then it starts to feel like someone is holding a blow torch to your skin.
Drives me crazy!
Is it always in the same places? Or does the feeling just travel all over?
IF it occurs in the same spots all the time ( for example: left shoulder) it could be silent shingles.
IF it travels all over, I would ask for MRI to test for pinched nerves.
Try a chiropractor and see if he/she can help.
