Is it normal for forearm to cramp, swell and bruise after EMG?

After an EMG for cubital tunnel syndrome yesterday, my forearm is swollen and bruised from my wrist to elbow and it feels like the aftermath of a muscle cramp... should I be concerned?
I've been icing it and taking ibuprofen but as the day has gone on, the swelling has increased in both surface area and girth. The bruising is also spreading and covers about 1/3 of the forearm. Flexing my wrist causes my hand to go asleep, not unlike the pins and needles in my pinky and ring finger from the suspected CTS. Drs office is on emergency only till Monday. Am I safe to wait till then?
