From Haggis 333,
I have been taking Lyrica for about 5 days and there is an improvement in my neuropathy. As the day progresses the neuropathy seems to become worse. I should like to hear from members about their dosageof Lyrica. There are no suicidal tendencies: as a matter of fact I feel better having taken the Lyrica and I feel better having had a good night's sleep.
I have been taking Lyrica off and on for a couple of years. I have degenerative disc disease plus a number of other issues and have some significant neuropathy. The Lyrica helps the neuropathy (for my case) more than anything else I've tried. If I take too much I get sleepy. I have had suicidal tendencies while taking the Lyrica, but no other side effects that I've noticed. If you take it just watch out for the suicidal ideation. Maybe the Cymbalta will take care of that side effect. Good luck.
I have suffered from neuropathy for years and have been prescribed "Lyrica". I should be interested to hear if any other members would like to share their experiences with this medication.
Hello storkx3, I saw your comment and wanted to tell you my experience on Lyrica and ask you a question or two about Cymbalta. I have been on Lyrica 50mg 3 times a day for 4 months for sudden onset of paresthesias (numbness, tingling, shocks, burning, tremors etc) for which we still have no diagnosis yet. Initially (1st couple of weeks to 1 month) I felt tired all the time and spacey but it did decrease the amount of nerve issues I was feeling. Here 4 months in I am no longer spacey or tired. My neurologist wants me to start on Cymbalta 30mg (up to 60mg after 2 weeks) to see if it helps the residual nerve pain and the anxiety being caused by not knowing what is wrong with me. What has been your experience on Cymbalta and how often are you taking it? Any advice? I would recommend the Lyrica based on my own experience, but give it time to work and to get over the sleepy/spacey feeling.
Thanks for your time if you can reply.
