Knee pain

I have had knee pain in my left knee for about 3 years now. When i am sitting on a chair and i straighten my left leg the pain occurs, and there must be something wrong because my right knee is fine. I also get the pain when i am lying in bed. The pain is most apparent when i lift my left knee cap, you know how you can tense or whatever and your knee cap will move up.sometimes along with the pain i get twitching in my knee, i dont know what it is that twitches, but sometimes its rapid twitching that passes quickly. there must be something wrong because the right knee is fine. the pain isnt even bad, i can cope with it. the pain appears to occur when my left knee has pressure  (such as when u straighten ur leg when sitting down or raise the knee cap). im an 18 yr old male.

I started having the same electrical shocking pain to the left part of my kneecap a.k.a. patella. what people don't discuss here is that this kind of injury is due to stress both physical and or mental. I  imediately went to the drugstore and bought some fish oil, joint support aka glucosamine and emergency fortified with vitamin D and calcium. I also started eating brown rice three times a day with vegetables aka a partial macrobiotic diet. I also found a YouTube video of stretches for knee injuries that I have done twice a day for five days in a row.

My shocking pain has stopped. no more standing or sitting or walking or laying down and having this uncontrollable shocking pain no more!! at times I can feel a minor shock start near the patella but it is dissipated because  I am strengthening the muscles below and above the knee which help dissipate the pain!!!
again changing your stress levels will help -taking the supplements will help and eating a plant-based diet will definitely help – the culprit always seems to be swelling or inflammation!!! I also believe that my general pH balance is off I am slightly more acidic due to poor eating and lack of stress management. I hope this helps everybody because the pain was so intense!! good luck

Hi guys,

Hope u all are fine.

I was going through all articles on internet about severe pain in knee cap like electric passing through knee cap.
I gone through different articles and met orthopedist. Orthopedist educated me that there is nerve in my is preesed which is why pain is happening. He gave me medicines.Pain stopped for couple of days but pain suddenly started again. And I was in a big problem. I couldn't sleep few night due this pain. On one day I discussed with one of my co worker in my office and suggested me see neurologist because my current system is causing this issue. I am met neurologist and he told me exact same thing.

Today, I thought to post this so if anybody suffering from this problem, need not to worry about just go ahead see neurologist.

I hope this will direct you to right direction.

God bless you.

If the twitching is in the quadriceps then it could be caused by a destabilization or weakening in the muscles that support the knee. If this is the case then simple exercises to strengthen these muscles can help. I would talk to your doctor first thought just to make sure. I know that some times when the muscles are not all that stable it can cause the knee to shift, any where from a slight misalignment to a dislocation. It is possible that your knee is not properly aligned in the joint and is the cause of your other problems. As I said before though ask your doctor about it and get professional advice. I have had issues with my knees and some of my advice is collected from my own injuries and research but I am not an expert by any means. I hope this can help get you in the right direction on a cure for your pain good luck.
