Left Side Pain Throughout Body

Hello! In 2005 I developed what was believed to be tendonitis of my left arm, mainly focused near the wrist. I believed at the time that my violin playing was the cause, as the pain was the worst when I would practice my instrument. I stopped playing the violin, to give my tendon time to heal. I was diagnosed with the tendonitis by a specialist, who suggested physical therapy. After two months without improvement, I stopped the therapy. Four years have passed, and this supposed tendonitis has spread throughout my left side. In addition to my left wrist area, I now feel pain in my fingers, elbow, shoulder, neck, jaw, teeth and ear, as well as my ribs, hip, knee and ankle areas. All the pain in these locations is only on the left side of my body.

I can get very short-term relief by "popping" any of the joints near the previously mentioned affected areas.

My question is, how could this tendonitis spread? Can tendonitis do this? If not, then what is affecting me? Could this be nerve, vein, or ligament damage? How could any of these types of pain be able to spread? Why does popping the joints cause (albeit minor) relief?

Any sort of feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

I also have the same problem. I started with pain in my left elbow, then it spread to my entire left side. My left wrist all the way down to my toes. The pain feels like someone hit my funny-bone...on every joint at once. I am taking flaxseed, fish oil, and calcium +D. I have ordered every crazy homeopathic pill, oil, ointment I can find. The doctor insists it is tendonitis, but how can it affect the entire left side of my body? And I am RIGHT handed. What could cause my body to attack my tendons?

I am also sufferring from the same issue except it is my right side of the body. It started 4 years ago in my rt. thumb.  It spread to my wrist and shoulder.  It then moved into my knee after a mountain bike accident. I was told to stop typing on the computer and not to exercise for 2 to 3 months to allow everything to rest.  However, today I am feeling about 80% better.  I have been through x-rays, ultra sounds, blood draws, etc.  It has been a long 4 years.  On a chance, a Rheumatoid specialist tested my Vitamin D levels and I was low.  In Jan. 2009 I had a stress fracture in my fibula.  I rested and it healed but the pain did not go away.  I was diagnosed with RSD.  I started taking Shiff's joint over the counter med and I have felt loads better.  I take regular vitamin and calcium in the morning after breakfast and a vitamin D and Shiff's joint med in the evening after dinner.  What a difference this has made.  Good luck and if you find anything else, please come back and share.

Hi,

Tendonitis as the name suggests is inflammation of the tendons. This condition does not spread all over the body. This requires further evaluation as it is difficult to comment without a clinical exam.

There is a possibility that you may be suffering from fibromyalgia which causes generalized aches and pains in the body.
