Lightheaded/tinnitus/eye floaters

Hi, this is my first time posting.

I am a 27 year old teacher.  Last December I was diagnosed with HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - a genetic heart disease), but up until that point I was an incredibly healthy individual.  I feel like since my diagnosis my health has been deteriorating in other areas.  Doctors can't find anything wrong with me (other than the HCM) and I'm wondering if anyone can give me suggestions on whether my heart treatment is causing these problems or if it's something else altogether.

In January I had an ICD (defibrillator) installed to shock me if my heart should go into a fatal rhythm.  The surgery went fine. In April I was put on 25mg a day of nadolol and I also seemed fine after that.

It was June 4th when all of my problems started. I went out for a morning walk and got about 10 feet out of my driveway when i was overcome with dizziness.  I almost fell to the ground but I was able to get back to the house and lay down.  I figured it was just too hot and it would soon go away.  It didn't.  For about a month I stayed constantly dizzy.  The dizziness was made much worse by movement (turning my head, walking, etc.).  My blood pressure was in a normal range and my heart was not acting up at all. My cardiologist switched me to 20mg a day of atenolol and around that time the dizziness seemed to to subside and I thought we had found and fixed the problem.

In July the dizziness morphed into a less intense but still constant lightheadedness. Other symptoms followed - occasional tinnitus in my left ear, noticeable eye floaters in my left eye, slightly blurred vision, a feeling of pressure throughout my head, neck pain, tingling at the top of my head, pain behind my left eye... and the constant lightheadedness.  Once again the symptoms seem to be worse with movement.  The only time I have relief is when I lay down and don't move my head.

I have had blood work done - all normal. Been to two ENTs and had a full balance test done - normal. Went to two optometrists and was told my eyes were perfectly healthy and the pressure was in normal range. Went to a neurologist who did a CT scan that came back normal - he tried to prescribe me muscle relaxants for my neck pain but i really don't see that as even a major complaint and I would hate to make myself more lightheaded. I cannot have an MRI done because of my ICD.

I have never really need medical intervention before so i feel like my HCM treatment could be responsible for this but I just don't see how anything I've done should still be giving me issues - I've taken the nadolol and I'm on atenolol now, I was put on antibiotics after my surgery, and I took some pain pills for a couple days.  In early May there was worry over infection and I was given two antibiotic injections.... could any of these things be responsible?

Any suggestions on what I should do next would be much appreciated.  This has definitely made my day to day life miserable and I'm afraid if it keeps up I won't be able to do my job. Thanks.

I do not have an absolute answer, but just in case, you might want to take a list of medications, any herbs/dietary suppliments, and a list of foods you typically eat/drink to pharamcists.  Go to SEVERAL pharmacies (just stop on in), don't mention you've gone other places (so they aren't skewed by other suggestions) and explain your problem saying you wondered if any of the things you take/are given are interacting.  Even if they do not see anything interacting, they are a whole other layer of the medical profession and may have suggestions no one else has thought of as to what might be going on or who else you can see.

Good luck!
