Lightheadedness

Maybe someone can help me,. I have been lightheaded now for over a year almost everyday, all the doctors keep telling me its vertigo but its not, I never feel like thing are spinning, the only was to describe it is; I feel like the oxygen to my brain is being cut off, I have been to a cardiologist who has done every test there is, nothing wrong with my heart, I have had blood pressure test (tilt test) nothing wrong with my blood pressure. Neurologist - can't find anything; Family doctor thought is was anxiety but I never have heart palpitations,  I tried medication and it amplified my symptoms; had blood work and thyroid panels and nothing shows up, if I cough, yell, laugh, drink all those things intensive my lightheaded ness and make me feel like I'm going to pass out, I was a smoker until about a year ago when this started. I completely quit cause I didn't know what was wrong...Then others tell me its just menopause. I hope someone out there can help me figure this one out - cause even my doctors can't find it

I don't feel like I have anxiety, I'm never nervous or have heart palpitations, I have low pressure usually 95/68 but that is normal for me  When the doctor gave me medicine within hours it amplified my symptoms and I made me even more lightheaded. At this point I'm willing to try anything, I wake up everyday lightheaded all day long, but when I yell, laugh, cough, sneeze, and or drink any alcohol.. anything that builds pressure it makes it worse.. I was even thinking about going to a chiropractor for an adjustment to see if that will help, kinds lost for what to do next..

I know you said you tried something for anxiety but don't give up.  I believe that's your issue.  It's one that many doctors will miss.  There are many things you can take but my Mother takes a very small dose of Elavil at night and it controls her symptoms.  There are others but they take time to work, as does the Elavil.  If some of the new meds made you worse, Elavil just might help, as it is one of the older ones.  She was diagnosed with inner ear and anything else you can think of.  It took almost 2 years of almost non functioning before she saw a neurologist who recognized her problem and treated it.  She has been great every since!  It is a crazy display of anxiety but believe me, I saw it in her and it is very atypical, for sure!
