I recently had an MRI of the Cervical Spine w/out Contrast. I have chronic bi-lateral pain in my shoulders, arms and hands. I have numbness and tingling in my fingers and chronic pain in my wrists. My hands are weak and I tend to drop items unexpectedly. I do not understand the terms used in the report. C5-C6 reads: A combination of posterior osteophytes, diffuse disk bulge and posterior central disk protrusion is seen causing mild compression of anterior thecal sac and touching the cervical spinal chord. No neural foramina narrowing. Mild bilateral facet DJD. C6-C7 reads: Combination of posterior osteophytes, diffuse disk bulge and posterior central disk protrusion is seen causing compression of anterior thecal sac and touching the cervical spinal chord. No neural foramina narrowing. No facet DJD. Impression: Mild cervical spondylotic changes. Can someone please put this into Layman's terms for me?
