MRI in lay man's terms please?

MRI Brain Findings: There is approximately 10 mm of cerebellar tonsillar ectopia below the level of the foramen magnum. The tonsils remain rounded. There is effacement of the subarachnoid space at the foramen magnum. The venticles, sulci, and cisterns are otherwise unremarkable. No significant kinking at the cervical medullary junction. There is  an indeterminant subcentimeter nodule within the pituitary gland. A microadenoma cannot be excluded.

MRI cervical spine: Reversal of normal cervical lordosis. Paraspinal soft tissues are unremarkable. Degenerative disc disease at C3/4, C4/5, and C5/6. No significant cervical dural compression or neuroforaminal narrowing.

I am not sure if there is an "affliation" between the Chiari's and the pituitary nodule, however, the symptoms of each may overlap meaning it might be difficult to say if the Chiari's is causing more of a problem then the pituitary nodule or visa versa.

Yes, you should be concerned about the nodule as well.  The treatment of this will depend on what type of microadenoma/macroadenoma it is.  I believe since yours measures at 1mm that is considered macroadenoma.

Meant to add in my last post this will involve consulting a Endocrinologist and possibly a NS if surgery is recommended.  You should as well consult a NS/NL who is familiar with Chiari's and keep in mind all of them AREN'T.

Can't forget the pretty lights that remind me of fireworks in my vision, not to mention the little floaters and vertigo.

yes I am only 26. I have been experiencing pressure in the back of my head and neck, neck stiffness and pain, tingling and numbness in thumb and forefinger (left side), complete loss of sensation that comes and goes in my feet and toes, unsteady gait, frequent urination (sometimes loss of control) visual disturbances, left eyelid droops, loss of peripheral vision (comes and goes) popping sensations in neck and back when stretching, horrible pain with coughing straining laughing yawning that is located in back of head, daily nausea, weakness of limbs, fatigue, snoring at night, bouts of insomnia due to pain, sometimes it feels like my heart is going to explode from my chest, memory loss (brain cloud) low libido, low csf pressure.. Im probably forgetting something, lol.
Should I be concerned about the pituitary nodule? I don't know if this matters but I also have a nodule that is about 1 cm on my thyroid gland. Do you think there is a affiliation between the two?

To add:  you have a nodule in your pituitary gland; possibly a microadenoma? The nodule is <10mm.  Once again, NS should be consulted.

You are only 26?  Correct?  This is not good dear.

What are your symptoms?

Sounds like Chiari's (10mm cerebellar tonsillar ectopia).  Plus, you have cervical discs breaking down and the curve in your cervical spine has reversed.

Next step should be consulting a NS or NR who is familiar with diagnosing and treating Chiari's as well as this DDD.

Post in the Chiari forum as well.
