Ok thanks that helps clear things up a bit.....I wonder if the cyst they found on my mri was actually gliosis instead?
Hi there. Nerve damage cannot be detected on an MRI scan with or without contrast. Gliosis or proliferation of astrocytes in central nervous system in response to injury resulting in scar formation can be seen on MRI but not damage. Electromyogram or EMG and nerve conduction velocity NCV study needs to be done to check for nerve damage. Consult a neurologist for assessment and investigation. Take care.
