Multiple Sclerosis? Slipped Disk

Hi there.  I'm a 22 year old female in good shape and a little over a month ago I began experiencing some strange symptoms. It started with a sore back and at night when I was in bed my legs felt detached from my body.  Then, on May 2nd I had an episode where I was outside of church and it was a hot sunday morning and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to pass out, my sight and hearing were fuzzy, I ran inside and had a sweating attack. I didnt pass out, but my hands ended up clamping together so tight that I could open and close them or use my fingers.  After that, I was shaky and off and on my hands will have tingling feelings.  Last weekend, my hip became sore and tingling and twitching followed in both of my legs. They also felt very tired, but I was able to work through the feeling and go on with my daily routine.  Then I was having tingling, twitching, and weakness throughout both legs.  At the beginning of this week it was so unbearable that I went to my school health clinic and saw the dr.  She did a bunch of reflex tests and pinching and tinckling tests and said it wasnt MS and its probably a slipped or herniated disk.  She told me to take 3 advil 3 times a day and see how it feels in 3 weeks.  I was so relieved at the time and felt much better about everything.  Then today, my leg has been twitching all day and I went outside to sit in the sun and had a feeling like I was totally distant and a bit dizzzy.  My body became shaky and I am now convinved that its not a slipped or herniated disk causing these symptoms.  can anyone calm my anxiety and provide a suggestion?

Hi, Thank you for the question. Most likely possibilities of such symptoms are either anxiety disorder or herniated disc. In anxiety disorder a person may experience all these symptoms that you have mention, even without any underlying disorder and this need to be thoroughly assessed by a psychiatrist first. Another possibility could be nerve impingement at back that may be still compressing the nerve roots and may be the prime cause of numbness and other neurological symptoms. I would suggest a careful & thorough investigation through a neurologist and cardiologist (since he also has high BP) to reach at probable diagnosis here. In addition, suggest him to rest in a dark & quiet room, meditate, have a balanced diet, regularly exercise and avoid taking unnecessary non prescription drugs. Hope this helps !!!
