My 68 yr old father had a mild stroke on 2008 and it was followed by stroke on his left side the following year. He is also diabetic and has problems in the liver. He takes his medicines for hypertension. After the stroke, there are times when he starts talking to himself, or to a portrait like the angel portrait at home, and sometimes, especially in the evening, he keeps on talking random things to us like things in the past, people he met before that are not familiar to us or plain random topics he creates just to keep the conversation going, which causes us lack of sleep because he won't let us leave. If we leave his room to sleep, he would call us out. The next morning, what worries us most, he gets agitated and hot-tempered with no reason. Before, he said he is in his workplace which in fact he is only lying in his bed. He mentions his co-workers and other people's names (we don't know if they are made up or real because they are not familiar). Is this normal after stroke? What should we do during times when he gets angry for no reason? Are there any medicines good for this? Looking for some ways to help him. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
