Hi, just a little background, in January '17 I woke up one morning and could not move my neck. I went to Primary and Doctor ordered an MRI, came back I had a minimal disc bulge on C5 and a small hemangioma on C4. Went to a Neurologist and cleared me, said it was exercise that hurt my neck and was not worried about hemangioma, ordered PT. Went to PT and fully recovered. Since then, my back started hurting for two months, extreme pain and muscle spasms in my mid back daily. Out of the blue, I woke up one day and my back pain was better. Fast forward a couple of weeks. I went back to the Neuro in May and since then I have started having muscle fasciculation's body wide especially in my legs along with muscle tightness in the thighs, calves, and feet which hurt all the time. After doing some research online, I decided to try a magnesium supplement and since then they have decreased to only a couple of times a day but my legs are still tight. I am walking two miles a day and I know that is not the problem. Of course I am an internet junkie and once I start looking at symptoms I am having it says that they are the symptoms of ALS. My grandmother died from ALS and this is causing me to spiral out of control with my thoughts. My neuro appt. is not till the end of Sept. and wanted to see if anyone thought this my be initial ALS symptoms?
- Muscle Fasciculations are 98% better, only a few times a day.
- Extreme muscle tightness in my thighs, calves, and feet.
- Sometimes it is hard to swallow my saliva, have to swallow twice to get it down and has happened a handful of times. No problem with food or liquids.
Do fasciculation's come and go with ALS? Please let me know if I am being crazy.
