As of about a week ago, the muscle in my right bicep has gotten incredibly weak. I can no longer shoot a basketball, swing a golf club, or curl anything more than 10 lbs. It takes a tremendous effort to flex my bicep, and you can tell by comparing the right and left bicep while flexed that there is a huge difference. My left bicep is fine. I was able to play basketball just fine about 3 weeks ago.
I have been studying for finals for the past 3 weeks, and when I studied I was laying on my right arm awkwardly and it would become numb or "go to sleep" every 30-60 minutes. I believe this may be the cause. My dad (who is a doctor) said I could have pinched a nerve in my neck, however I feel no unusual pain in my neck.
I also have something wrong with me where I compulsively crack my neck about every 10-20 seconds (I have lived with this since I was 4 years old and it is absolutely debilitating, so if anyone can help me with this then take your best shot, no doctor has been able to figure out what is wrong), I wonder if this could factor into the muscle atrophy.
So my question is: Could what I described with my numbness from studying for finals have attributed to this major deterioration? If so, how do I go about rehabing this? I have been lifting a 5 lbs dumbbell throughout the day because I have been freaked out. Any help will be much appreciated!
