My 17 year old son admitted - CK levels 48,000 - Liver Enzymes were over 1,100

My son is 17 years old, fit and athletic. He does work out in an air conditioned gym for an hour four times a week. One day I noticed that he was extremely sore, wich is rare for him, so I scheduled an appointment with his pediatrician,. She called me that morning to report his labs, then called later and said that his CK levels were 31,000 and Liver Enzymes had risen, everything else was normal. She wanted us to go straight to the Childrens Hosoital which we have done, within an hour his CK has risen to 48,000. They have done about every blood test possible, an ultrasound on his liver and heart. For two days they have had him on complete bed rest and flooding his body with fluids which is working. My concern is that, they are not trying to find out what caused this. Will it rise when they try and release him. His levels are now at 8,000 and theyu are talking about releasing him in the am. They cant find a virus, have called no specialist.. The attending doctor tells me this morning -  that his enzyme levels were at 48,000 when he got here, he said he's never seen the levels that high before, the only time he's seen them even close to that high is in people that are seizing right before they flatline. (which is a great thing to tell a mother, right before you say if they are at any lower tomorrow we are releasing him)... This hospital is supposed to one of the best!?!?  They are down to 14,000 now. They have one more virus test and after that they said it will just be one of those things that they say they just don't know. I am so confused, how can they just give up, how will I know that when he is home and active, without bedrest they wont shoot up again.. I am scared, and I CAN'T seem to get these Residents and Doctors to quit guessing and even get a consult?!?  What should I do, or how??

Do not let them release him, make them get him a consult from someone, there is a surgeon (saved my life after T-12 was destroyed) he is a straight shooter no BS. He is in OK at OU medical, Dr Kahn (sp?) if you can talk to him he will tell whom you should see. Get in contact with him via phone no matter what it takes and tell him what is wrong fully detailed fax your sons records to him. If that isn't working Dr Al Moorad is retired but if you can contact him in Oklahoma City he is one of the greatest men I know tell him Wayne Prater from Stillwater is asking a favor please hear you out. Those two men are the reason I am still on this earth. I know you must be beside yourself but pull together everything in you being and stand for your son. I had triplet boys who would be 17 and going into there Senior year however due to horrible circumstances they never made it out of the hospital with a problem that the solution was found one year later. Levels that out of whack are the body saying something is WRONG and needs diagnosed and a plan of action worked up before release. Do not accept no answer as an answer. Please if you need help I work at Oklahoma State University dude contact me if you need anything. I got a second chance because of those Dr's I am in a wheelchair but I am here for my kiddos. This is weird I found this site and was going to through out my regular any new stuff on paralysis cures but responding to you is more important to me now 4o5 than 714 asking if I can 356three I didn't know whether my digits would catch in the algorithms they run to stop people from posting such knowledge contact me and I will do what I can for you. I have a friend who does stem cell research at Yale. I will pray for him I don't know if you are a spiritual guy but I believe things happen for a reason and please contact me I really have vested myself in your sons story now so let me help. I know guys don't like to admit they can't go it on their own but I now require help every day due to my condition. Our connection was meant to happen to help your son put aside your dad stubbornness and put a battle for answers and don't be afraid to phone a friend and as of when I started this that is what I am you friend. I will look forward to your positive outcome that you as a parent are going to get due to determination and pure love for your son. I haven't been more than 70 miles from home since my accident but I look forward to traveling to your sons graduation after you make this happen. Brothers in arms Wayne and you.
