Neck denervation/surgery & DeQuervain's

Will my neck decompression/fusion surgery also correct the DeQuervain's I have in both thumbs from a MVA 2 years ago or, do I have to also undergo thumb surgeries?
I have many problems arising from C5,C6 and C7 but will the neck surgery alleviate the DeQuervain's?
I am unable to use my thumbs and am desperate to find this out.
Can anyone offer anything?
Thank you.

Thank you very much for your response. This helps me tremendously.
I was surprised to receive a reply from a doctor.
Again, much obliged.

Hi,

I am afraid but neck surgery will not cure Dequervain’s in the thumb. DeQuervain’s syndrome occurs due to inflammation of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds the two tendons that control thumb movement.
Treatment includes corticosteroid injections or surgery to open the tunnels to release the pressure on the tendons.
Hope this answers your question.
