Nerve injury (median nerve?) from blood draw has not healed in 6 months.

Hey, so roughly 6 months ago I had blood drawn from my arm. It was quite difficult for the nurse to locate the vein and she got increasingly frustrated. On the 7th or 8th attempt she went in with force and I could immediately feel something was wrong as I got a strong shooting pain down my arm. I asked her to remove the needle but she refused and said that she had hit the right place because finally blood came into the syringe. She didn't move the needle much after this fast and forceful entry like I've never experienced before, but just collected three vials of blood. Well pretty soon I realised I had gotten nerve pain as I could feel jolts of electricity going down my forearm and hurting especially at the wrist. This severe pain subsided in the coming 2-4 weeks. But still today I am left with pain in my arm. If I gently stroke the area were the median nerve goes down my arm which is around were the nurse hit me with the needle it almost feels like my wrist contracts and I have this feeling of pins and needles around my wrist which is accompanied by an electric shock like feeling, and the area were the needle went in also tingles and there is a chock there too and it kinda feels like it uncomfortably contracts. It also hurts if I push down on the wrist and it seems like it gets worse during the day after I've started to poke the area and stretch my arm. I have no motor deficit as far as I am aware and I wouldn't say I am numb in any area, it's mostly painful and uncomfortable especially at the wrist. I can deal with this at this time but it is starting to get very frustrating as it's been 6 months and I went to a GP and he didn't know anything really and sent me to get an EMG. You could tell though on his face that he was concerned as 6 months is a considerable amount of time. I am just scared this is permanent as that would be absolutely devastating to me. Is there any chance that this can go away in a year or even less? I'm very worried :(.... I'm not really interested in pursuing a malpractice case, I just want my normal arm back....
