Hi.

I think you should just relax over the weekend. Make a list of things to be done over the next week. Spend time with family. Do not worry about doing anything wrong. Just make sure you are prepared for tomorrow and write down what you want to speak to the doctor.

You'll be fine.

HI there, THANKS again, I will do that on Monday if u feel its not an emergency thing at this point. Is there anything I should NOT be doing or be careful of or avoid........OR anything to do to HELP??  Please remember this numbness is an inner numbness on legs.....meaning i can feel my touch....but numb i guess MORE inner. Yet the anal numbness is one that i actually can't feel.  Thanks.  You make me feel better yet still worried, THANKS again.  Linda

Hello.

It is really difficult to explain why there is numbness around the anal region. A Neuropathy might have explained it easily. Either way, there is a common point where the blood vessel is getting compromised, or a nerve is getting affected.

You have mentioned that the MRI has ruled out any compression. But that does not mean they have ruled out Neuropathy !!

I guess you can call the doctor on Monday.

Hi again , THANKS SO MUCH, I intend to call Dr. on Monday and go from there, OR do you think I should do something immediately?? This NOT knowing what it is is taking its toll in the WORRY DEPT.
One more thing, I can understand the leg numbness BUT not the 3 inch circle area around my anal opening?? Would this circulation cause that OR is that a separate issue? If so? What?? THanks.....Linda

Hi.

Neuropathy is a term used for nerve dysfunction. It can occur due to compression or diabetes also.

Vascular problems may be block or blood supply to certain areas of the body. This is usually accompanied by pain. DSA does not need any special preparations. You will be injected a contrast medium. Some departments do not have DSA. You can ask for a CT angiogram.

Hello, Thank you , you've been SO informative.  WHen u say een though there is no compression, neuropathy scan still occur?? What do u mean,
Also, this has been going on for about 3 weeks, I take Motril (300mg) 3 times a day, and if i don't I have a dull 24/7 pain in my legs.  But the numbness is pretty much only on back of the R leg, very tip of toes and anal area.
This anal area numbness really BAFFLES me?? Why there? And if it is vascular, do you mean a circulation problem??  And what would be the cause of that ??? Blockage?
I know this is a mouthful but GREATLY Appreciated to be informed.  Linda

Hello.

If this is not due to a nerve compression, then vascular problem is the other alternative we should think of. Even if there is no compression, neuropathy can still occur, as in Diabetes.

For vascular problem, you will have to get a Digital Subtraction Angiography done. Find out if this procedure is done in you hospital.

Hello.

This is a sign of dysfunction of the sensory nerves supplying the areas. The problem could be originating from the spinal cord. Such problems are usually caused by protrusion or intervertebral discs.

Have you consulted a Neurologist ? Was any MIR of the lower back done ?
