Over one month ago I had a routine blood test. When the needle was put into my inner elbow area, I immediately felt pain followed by tingling in my fingers. I developed a large bruise and swelling. The bruise has since gone away but the pain and tingling is severe. It hurts to use my hand for anything because the pain pulls in my forearm and can be overwhelming. It hurts to hold a glass of water, cut food, fold laundry, etc. Also if I rest any portion of my elbow or forearm on the table for a few minutes, my arm begins to throb. I saw a neurologist who believes my nerve was damaged during the blood draw and to wait and see if it improves. (Much easier said than done!) Has anyone experienced this where the symptoms have lasted for a while. Does it eventually go away or can it be permanent? Thanks in advance!
