I started having the exact same pain behind my right ear. This is the 2nd day it's happening. It hurts 7/10 sometimes lower, lasts for under a second and happens every 15s to 1min. Depends what I'm doing at the moment. I believe it started after I've been doing a lot of work while sitting. I work from home, and do my job usually from the chair. But I've never experienced this before, although I did push it maybe a bit too much...but I didn't notice any pain while doing my work...maybe the coffee blocked it... anyways, I'm trying to relax now and the frequency of pain spikes is lower, so is the pain. However, it doesn't seem to be going away.
research states it's trigeminal neuralgia. blood vessels compressing the trigeminal nerve.
did you ever find out what the ear pain is? I too have the same exact problem. it's painful, irritating and maddening! I went to a doc & she said it was allergies and to take Benadryl. it is not allergies and the Benadryl (or Tylenol) doesn't work! still seeking a diagnosis.
hi
i was jjust wondering if the pain runs down your neck after it hits the back of your ear and if you have had your hearing tested lately. this type of pain has happened to me on occassion and i try to have a hearing test as close as possible. they have found since getting a base point that each time this happens i lose a little bit of hearing. so far they haven't had a way of preventing the hearing loss but who knows?
