Pain in hands and feet

About 3 years ago, my feet started to hurt first thing inthe morning.  Pins and needles, numbness and then like something was stepping on a nerve.  Over the last year, this pain has incresed to include my hands, wrist, ankle and sometimes my calves.  It keeps me awake at night and does not go away during the day.  I am not over weight but am a smoker who suffers from Diverticulitis (spelling).  Just sitting here typing the question, I can feel the blood pumping thru  my feet and hands leaving them tired and sore.

Any siggestions as to what maybe causing this.... Any help would be well appreciated.

The pins and needles and numbness suggest diabetic neuropathy, and an evaluation by an endochronologist is in order. You require a test known as an Hba1c. The calf pain suggests a condition known as intermittitant claudication, which is also common in late stage diabetes and is caused by circulatory deficiency. So square two is an evaluation by a vascular specialist, to evaluate the dorsilis pedis pulses, and perhaps have a color doppler of the legs.

Could be neuropathy.  Go see a neurologist for tests and evaluation.
