Pineal Brain Cyst

I had a pineal cyst removed in 2004. I am curious what the likeliness of a tumor occuring again is.
I am experiencing similar symptoms as before.

I'd like to know who you went to that operated on a cyst...it seems, according to what I've seen on here, that getting Dr's to remove a cyst, and not a tumor, are slim.  I've been suffering with migraines and several other symptoms for a long time, however in the last few years the symptoms have worsened.  And lo and behold, a Pineal Cyst shows up, approximately 5mm in size.  Now it's to the point I can't even really work anymore, so at this point, I'd like to see if getting rid of this thing would do anything.

Anyway, just curious.  Hope your MRI turns out okay...

hi Rach, the chances of recurrence of pineal cyst are rare if complete cyst contents along with the entire capsule has been removed during surgery. There could be recurrence, if the resection was incomplete or if the capsule was left behind. Get a opinion of neurologist as you are experiencing similar symptoms. He will advice CT/MRI Head to rule out recurrence.
