Pins and needles

For a little over a month I have these pins and needles pain that occur mainly on my entire back but it is also evident on my chest, buttocks and the inside of my lower legs.  The pain only occurs when my body temp is elevated through mechanical means, such as a heated room, sun and exercise.   It immediately disappears when my body cools down. So far I have been to a GP, Dermatologist, and a Neurologist.  I have had complete blood work, MRI of skull and neck, ECG, Carotid artery test. Nothing has shown up that would explain this pain

The Gabapentin pills that I praised in my reply of 11/28/2007 has not been the panacea that I thought it was going to be.  So my euphoria was premature.  I am still waiting for the results of my skin grafts.  More to come I hope.

I have just visited a Neurologist at Johns Hopkins on my Pins and Needles pain caused by an elevated body temperature.  There is no rash involved with these pins and needles. He told me he had never heard of such a problem caused by body heat.  He told me that he could prescribe a drug that has had some good results with Shingles pain and other neurological pain.  The drug is called Gabapentin.  It has had an almost instant relief for me. For the first time in 2 months I have been able to go out in the sun with no pins or needles pain.  The doctor is still searching for the cause and if he finds something I will let you know.
