Hello
I hope a doctor can give me an opinion on this.
For the past Year I have been having extreme pressure in my head from both temples, I notice that this pressure is more accute when I wear my glasses at home, and when I am around odors such as paint, gas stations, I also feel this pressure during activities such as sex... not only do I feel pressure, most of the time I am under the impression that my temples are slightly bulging... the waiting list is quite long for a scan, but I notice alot of people mentioning sinusite, but the symptoms are quite diffferent tha mine, I have no migraines, just nausea and accute disorientation.
I have seen two doctors, both have given me quite different prognostics... 1 - one of them says my problem is due to dehydration, I am a very active person and I do not drink much to support my 6 foot 3 frame
2 the other doctor prescribed the scan and is very indecisive...
to see a specialist the waiting list is 6 months...
I hope one of you gentleman(women) can give me an opinion

Hey, I am still looking for answers to my head/neck problems. The right side of my head and the back of my neck are stiff everyday (sometimes mild, other times more intense.) I have been seeing an ENT and Neurologist and so far - after MRI of the brain, an EEG and a CT scan (all normal) I still don't know what is going on. I am working on a plan with my dentist...I am evidently clenching my teeth and am now wearing a mouth guard to keep the back of my teeth apart. I am noticing less pain in my jaw area (rt. side) and am hoping for relief for the rest of my head, shoulder, and back of my neck. I am taking Motrin, which is a temporary help. Other info: I have had this for 6 months and it was accompanied by a balance disorder that has almost completely disappeared. I went to physical therapy for massage and ultrasound and only received very temporary relief. I recommend taking tests to rule out BIG things!
Hello I am a 17 year old male and I feel I have some sort of stiffness in the left back side of my head and rarely get a sharp
very quik sting around a certain area , I am not scared about this just worried please give me some more information on what this could be.
***@**** thanks.
I may have similar symptoms as you. I have a pressure feeling in the back and right side of my head. I feel it more when i am lying dowm.I cannot sleep on my right side as I feel this "pressure" more. Sometimes I get a sharp pain in my right temple area and then it goes away in a second. I do also feel this feeling when I am not lying down. I have not seen my doctor yet...guess I am scared to have an MRI or cat scan. Maybe someone can give me some more info.
thanks
Thank you for your feedback. My neurologist has looked at my eyes through a fundscope and reports that everything looks fine.
To pressurehead - I have been seeing a chiropractor for 8 months and I do feel that the pressure is alleviating in the back of my head although it is not gone. I have had these symtoms for almost a year.
Take care.
I am a 42 yr old white male, who was involved in a car accident almost 2 years ago, since the accident or shortly after, I developed the following symptoms--pressure and numbness in the back of the head along with pain, occasional headaches and stiffness. I have had MRI w/w/o contrast, CT scan, all came back normal, blood work also normal.. I have been seeing a chiropractor for about 3 months with some relief...But the pressure and numbness are still there...Any ideas and or help?
Glad that the MRI was ok, which makes emergent and more serious diseases such as brain tumor or hemorrhage unlikely to be the cause of your symptoms. There is a very, very long list of things that can cause headache including different types of headache like tension headaches and migraine. However, given your ENT's opinion of a possible eustachian tube dysfunction, this could be a cause fo your symptoms. Problems with your cervical spine like arthritis can also be a cause. In addition to a formal neurological exam, make sure someone looks in your eyes with a funduscope to make sure everything is ok and that there is no evidence of increased spinal fluid pressure. This can present with headaches and normal MRI and is called pseudotumor cerebrii, which is condition that may be seen in patients who are overweight on certain meds like tetracycline or oral contraceptives. Systemic problems such as anemia, electrolyte abnormalities or thyroid disease can also cause headache which can be evaluated with routine bloodwork. If there are any neurological deficits, further evaluation such as a spinal tap may be considered. Goodl uck.
