I have been having problems with my left ankle for years. The problem started while I had thyroid cancer and my ankle issues took a backseat to the diagnoses, removal, and treatment of that. Finally in late 2014 I saw a doctor because my ankle was swollen and unable to move. He gave me steroid injections and prescribed physical therapy which helped some so we decided to pursue an arthroscopic ankle surgery. Two weeks after surgery I began having symptoms of RSD (pain, pain to touch, heat, swelling, etc.). Since being diagnosed with RSD I have completed to more rounds of physical therapy (each round with a different physical therapist). Therapy helps but then a few weeks later it's super swollen and painful again with burning and pain to touch creeping back in. My last physical therapist said it wasn't RSD but that my spine was tilted to one side of my pelvis and was pinching a tendon that went down into that ankle. She was able to follow the pain up in to my hip. What kind of doctor do I need to see for that? My hip, ankle, foot doctor just wants to keep doing X-ray and MRIs, is that a good idea or fruitless at this point? Other thoughts?
