Scalp ache but no headache

Hello,

I was wondering whether or not to bother the doctor with this, as it doesn't seem very urgent and I don't want to come across as a hypochondriac - so I thought I'd ask here first and see if people have anything to say.

I've had strange scalp pain that comes and goes, not really associated with wearing my hair up though. It's not accompanied by headache, and I generally don't suffer from headaches (any more than a regular person). My vision is ok too, although over the last few years I've experienced blurred vision at times - I think it's more due to the fact that I stare at a computer all day in work and I might simply be getting short-sighted with age (my mom is). I don't have any dizzy spells, nausea or other eerie symptoms that would indicate something wrong. However, I have noticed that whenever I lie down for a longer time and then get up, I do get headache. The scalp pain itself is located in spots, so it's not all over the place.

The reason I'm a bit worried is that I had an accident involving the head in the past. That accident happened nearly 6 years ago though and although I had a fracture, I didn't need any surgery or anything like that at the time. My neurological tests came back clear and I was just lucky I suppose. I think that, over such a long period of time, if something was up, there would be some major symptoms, but I'm not sure. I spoke to a doctor about that some two years ago but they said if there's no other symptoms like headaches, strange vision etc., balance problems, then I shouldn't be worried. I wonder if I should still ask a GP, or maybe I'm just looking for problems where there aren't any.
