Hello,
I would like a neurologist to help me if possible, please.
It is about my mum. She is 60.. it has been since this summer she had seizures a couple of times, say once a month but in the past month it has been more frequent, she got 2 in 3 days. the last one was yesterday. seh refuses to see the doctor.
Description of the seizure:
It comes out of the blue.. the light start flickering before her eyes, then she gets heart palpitations, and gets very nervous, she must wear her shades and draw the drapes, for she cannot stand the light. .then she wants to drink say lemon soda, for she feels like her tummy stopped working.. the "recovery" lasts for about 30 minutes.. her hands get cold, she is shivering a lot, and cannot think straight, feels fear..n panick.. its cruical that it is coming out of the blue
her health history:high(dont know exactely but not extremely high )blood pressure (was recommended pills for that 3 yers ago, but she neglected it..) obese only around her waist, she doesnt smoke or drink, was retired from her work last year(after 40 yrs being a teacher)
she drinks big amounts of coffee.. can coffeine cause these, if the person is aged? now, i menaged to convince her to drop down the daily coffee dose.. or it has not much to do with coffee?
Any clues? I thought the problem was for neurologist, though it may well be for a cardiologist or internist, too.
She refuses to see a doctor.. i think she fears it. :(
