I have sharp pains that moves up my neck on both sides behind ear.  They are very painful.  The pain is paralyzing-- it also goes on up through the back of my skull towards crown and can leave me with a major headache.  I had brain surgery in 2005 for partial removal of Brain Tumor.  The tumor was in the right frontal-lobe insicion at hairline.  I do not have any facial pain.  I do have memor loss also.  I was told it could involve a nerve in the brain but I cannot remember what Dr. Vendor called it.

I have the same thing! after the "shock" has gone, I get sharp burning pain on my face, headache, neck and shoulder pain and stiffness, also a "crawling" feeling.

I have had full studies done, xrays, MRI, EMG, blood tests and so on, I was prescribed cervical traction excersices a long time ago, but I still get the same shocks.

Right now I have been going to a neuro. to treat symptoms that I thought were related to the shocks, but now I have been diagnosed with Small Fiber Neuropathy, and I feel that my neck shocks have been somewhat ignored, and even if at this moment they are not as frecuent as before, those shocks are very painfull, and the after effects can last up to a week!

One time a doctor told me it had to do with trigeminal nerve/pain. But im still confused about it.

Good luck.

This definitely sounds like a neurological problem. From what I know, this could be because of the cervical plexus, which provides nerves for the neck and shoulder. However, I don't think my response is very accurate. The best thing to do is contact your doctor as soon as possible.
