Suddenly developed double, now extreme dizziness.

Last Sunday morning I had gotten up and started having double vision.  I was seeing two of each one of my children,  one right behind the other.  Then, I started getting extreme bouts of dizziness.  The dizziness gets so bad,   that I feel like I'm going to pass out.  THE ENTIRE room spins. This Has been going on for a week.  I've never had this before,  but it does make me a little nervous since my mom died of a brain aneurysm at 48 and my grandmother had a stroke at 50. (I am now 42).  I just have no idea what could be causing this.   Any suggestions?
