Hi there. These are longitudinal cavities in the spinal cord, mostly in the cervical region, which may extend to multiple spinal levels. the cavities are lined by dense , gliogenous tissue and may be associated with spinal cord neoplasms, traumatic injuries, vascular malformations. Syringomyelia is marked by pain and paresthesia , muscular atrophy of hands, analgesia with anesthesia to temperature changes in hands, arms etc. consult a neurologist for further elaboration and clinical evaluation. Take care.
