Syrinx question

I was told I have a syrinx, a small one it said it was between c2-c7 , thats allI was told , I had no idea I even had one, I was never told, I was looking to have some lab work faxed to me and the secratery faxed me a copy of a letter to my family DR and in it it said in 2005 on an MRI it was identified  had a syrinx, I was surprised I was never told abt this ever. Anyway , just recently I was in a hot tub , and had used very forceful jets on  my back, and was wondering if its possible taht tjose jets on full force could possibly cause a disrubtion of that syrinx? I am currently gng through a recovery from a perscribtion I had a paridoxical effect from it and is dealing with alot of related symptoms to that effect, but now I am worried if the syrinx is now complicating everything , I never ever had any series trama to my neck or spinal cord ever in my life , but latle I am having alot of muscular aches and pains , spasms etc... and it is a common symptom from the other situation I am dealing with , but I feel its excerabated ever since I was in the hot tub . txss for reading

I am so sorry to hear abt your Loving Brother , so sad, I Lost my brother 3 years ago at 47 years old too, its hard when you lose a loved one , my heart and prayers go out to you and your Loving Family . May God be with you all on such a sad time, your words and your daughters are so beautiful and so meaningful. I am sorry tohear abt your daughter having a series illness . What part of Toronto is your daughter in , I am in Durham Ontario . I am so glad your Doctors are now in tune with your health situation.
It is so important, not just from the medical point of view, but from
a deeper perspective of Consciousness, to have Understanding

My brother passed on this morning at home, at the age of 47, following a  nasty bout of bronchitis, most likely from heart failure.
He died peacefully in his sleep, just the way he would want to die.
He was mentally challenged, and he was afraid of doctors and hospitals,
but Dad always took care of him at home, except in rare occasions,
where there was no other choice.
Specially after Mom's horrific accident- hit by a drunk driver - 5 years ago.
He's going to a better place now, where there's no suffering.

God Bless you, you just made my entire day , you took alot of worry and concerns from me , you are truly a Blessing, and how amazing you are to take the time to read the Heather Ashton Manual, wow!!!!!! thank you hun.So Sad I have read on other Forums FM, Vulvodynia etc Forums when I first came off that drug trying to find answers before I ever found a support group for B/W , and before I found the Heather Aston Manual , there were people put on Benzos for anxiety, R/LS etc.... and then discovered that they were diagnoused with FM, when they never had the symptoms before a Benzo, they trust their Drs , the sadest Drs do not want to ever believe that it is possible, but the Blessing for me was that my Family Dr finally started to believe ma after 3 mths , as now I also hve a nerurologist and a Benzo Dr that acknowledges Benzo W/D , amd have it in writing. Thank you again. God Bless

Hey desperate.
I just read the Ashton manual - well not the entire manual, but the pertinent chapters anyway.
I thought a knew a bit about benzo withdrawal symptoms but I had no idea it could be so bad and so widespread! Oh my! That is tough pill to swallow. Trusting  Doctors, the  Health Care system, and then this happens. You loose the trust, you start questioning everything and where do turn to. Thank God for the Internet! Right?
This information of course changes the entire scenario my dear!
Your symptomology can be mostly attributed now to this and to a lesser extend to your syrinx-- dx of which is sketchy under the circumstances you described earlier --, as the onset of most symptoms was only after the discontinuation of Clonozepam.
It might be a good idea to contact the Neuro to verify that the syrinx dx
was just that and not only a suspicion of syrinx. Big difference!
The fact of you not been told, was very unprofessional, to my opinion.

The jets from the hot tub affecting your CNS is consistent with the Benzo
withdrawal symptoms as I understand. The hypersensitivities are apparently a common symptom.
The exact mechanisms, details and duration of these symptoms seem a little unclear.
The good news is that they do dissipate over time.

I will put all this to rest for now, setting my intention to get some intuitive ideas that may help you.
Over the years I learned to trust in my intuition,as it would time and time again prove to be more helpful than my intellect, specially in difficult and challenging situations.
Stay strong! You have endured a lot of suffering. It is time for things to turn around in your life. You definitely deserve better!

Hi, txs for replyig, well I was given a perscribtion for Clonozepam , if you go to Benzodipine withdrawl when you google Clonozepm wiki, it will explain or the Heather Ashton Manual , or your can go on a Forum called Benzo Buddies support Forum, I was given it for Sleep , I was on it for 4 1/2 Mths only , never ever in my entire life had any of these symptoms I have since I came off that Perscribtion back in May 2010 , it do take years before your Brain can repair the damage that drug does to the largest transmitter in your Brain , the Gaba Receptors are downregulated , it takes years for our Brain to rebuild them , its the calming Receptors to calm the Brain from misfiring , , the symptoms I am having are not one bit uncommon from what everyone else is dealing with that came off that drug , even ones that cold turkey like I was told to do , or ones that tapered, it happens to alot of people , but to alot theres no problems. I have burning/stinging all over my body , literally all over, muscle spasms, tension on my neck, back, shoulders since I came off that medication , but recently I have been having more muscle aches/pains, my arms feel like theres sand in them and my legs too, they feel so heavy, the bottom of my foot feel like I am walking on crushed bone, my ankle and wrist feel like they are sprained , I had a small fall back in November , I landed on my knees and caught my fall by my hands, my left hand was swollen and black and blue for a week, but I was still excercising for weeks , and then after gng into that hot tub , all the symptoms exascerbated since, I have a symptom that any time I scratch , or massage my neck or rub anywhere on my legs the symptoms intensify , I go weak, my throat feels like theres pressure around it, I sting more harder, theres quite a list of ymptoms. Then recently accidently I stummbled on a written report saying I had a syrinx , but that neurologist also suggested to my Family Dr that all these syymptoms were related to Benzo recovery , that was back in Sept 2011, but since then  I had jets from the hot tub forcfully on my back , I was told by that other support group that the jets just reved these symptom up , cause our CNS is hypersentaive still, but they are not aware of me having a syrinx as I just recently found out. I am not too sure having this is dangerous, as I mentioned I never had any trama ever to my neck or back , I never taken any other meds prior to that Benzo almost 20 mths ago. Hey desperate.
You are suffering from- up to recent- asymptomatic Cervical Small Syringomyelia.
There are too many unknown variables with this rather rare condition
that it is impossible to tell what caused you to become symptomatic.
One known fact is the progressive nature of this condition, and that may well be the reason here.
May I ask what prescription med caused all the complications and side effects and what exactly were they?
Clinical pathological characteristics may shed some light, however you would have to discuss this with the Neurologist.
