Hi,
How are you?
It seems that you are suffering from hypothyroidism as indicated by your elevated TSH levels. Hypothyroidism is treated by administering thyroid hormone in the form of pills. These pills do not harm the baby. Infact it is very important to maintain your thyroid levels within normal limits during the pregnancy.
Please do not worry about and make sure you take your medication as prescribed.
Take care!
Thank you for the kind reply...
Currently I am using 'Eltroxin' tablets..And now im not pregnant at all...Will this thyroid problem effect if i concieve now..or should i take care until my TSH level comes normal...and can i continue this medicine aftr i became pregnant..
Hi,
Eltroxin is thyroid replacement therapy and is not known to cause any problem during pregnancy. In fact it is important to take this medication regularly so as to keep the thyroid levels within normal range throughout pregnancy otherwise it affects the fetus.
Also make sure you let your OBGYN know that you are on replacement therapy before you start trying for a baby as it is very important for thyroid levels to be normal before conception.
