Have any of your symptoms been linked to hormone imbalance? I get these symptoms around the time of my period and also during 2 pregnancies.
Considering this is a ten year old thread, I'm really curious to know if there's been any change and/or clarification for the people above, by now?
I don't know if in 2007 the "medical community" was already familiar with Fibromyalgia? This is what it seems to keep coming down to in my case. Starting out with unexplainable ankle pains (coincidentally after an unknown insect bite, but no Lyme had been detected). I've been combatting the exact same symptoms (and more) for about 5 years now. As always, there're good periods and bad periods. I as well, have had numerous of research done... all to no avail. Because of this, it's pretty hard to be taken seriously... so once again, I'm exploring the internet for any possible answers. Since it's even starting to affect my face now, it's getting kinda maddening. Just checking in to see how you people are doing now...
I have had the brain mri and also tested for lyme disease. But this is only in my left side. Sometime I have vision problems with my left eye but this is when the symtoms are really strong. I need any suggestions you can help me with. You can see above all the testing. I am a widowed mother (39 years) and worry that my 11 year daughter will need me and I wont be able to help. Thank you God bless.
Have you a had a brain MRI? I too have had the tingling in my face and head, and legs, for 8 years now. All my MRIs have been normal. I see you are from PA. Have you been tested for Lyme disease? I have, twice, its been normal, but the standard test for it isn't to reliable. Just a thought!!!
I also have tingling issues, my head and face tingle all the time, sometimes worse than others. I also have some vertebrae that are messed up, T8-T10, they are compressed, could this be causing the tingling and also the vision problems?
I don't know, of course, but it really doesn't sound like RLS to me since it's going on all day. I, too, have buzzing in both feet. It was just the left, but now it's both. The only time I get relief is if I'm physically active or taking a hot bath. Mine is worse on awakening or any time I try to relax.
All my tests are normal.
Low estrogen levels might be causing mine, but you seem too young to have low estrogen. Low B-12 could be the problem.
My PCP puts mine down to "stress and anxiety" and I do have to admit, stress makes it worse and I was better when taking Paxil, but I cannot tolerate the SSRIs (uterine bleeding).
I feel for you, too, because I, too, know what you're going through.
Good luck to us all.
i have same thing...have posted on here numerous times...no answers...i have tingling in left side of face, neck, arm, hand, leg and foot...very strange...guess its just something i have to live with..but very scary
I have the same symtoms that you have described but never had the active foot or RLS. I have had a brain mri, nerve testing, 2 ekgs, eeg, tee, echocardiogram, and blood work. I also take Gabepentin and Cymbalta ( although I am not depressed) My doctor told me today he had no ideal what is going on. I feel for you because I complete understand. Good luck to both of us
Thank you for your comments
Hi,
I would suggest you to take up a physical activitiy like biking, stretching. Also soaking your feet in hot water just before sleeping helps. Requip is known to be very beneficial in patients with RLS. I suggest you consult a neurologist and if all other causes are ruled out, start treatment for RLS.Good luck!
Hi,
How are you feeling now?
Any type of tingling, burning, or numbness is usually a symptom related to a sensory nerve being damaged, diseased, or injured. The nerve involved appears to be originating from Sciatic nerve.
This peripheral nerve pathology can be due to Diabetes, Prediabetes, vitamin deficiency, altered blood pressure status, any nutritional deficiency or abnormal endocrine status.
Tingling, numbness, or burning can also be due to anxiety.
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move when at rest in an effort to relieve these feelings.
Chronic diseases like kidney disease, diabetes, and peripheral neuropathy are also cause for RLS.
If you are moving about in bed to relieve pain, have creepy and crawly feeling in leg, motor restlessness with increase in symptoms as night progresses, a diagnosis of RLS is certain.
I think you should consult physician and another neurologist to re-evaluate your case.
Bye.
