I've been to an otolaryngologist (ear specialist) and had every test in the book. I have Meniere's. The doctor put me on hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) and isoxuprine (small blood vessel vasodilator) and my ringing dropped down to a barely audible level after being very loud. My nausea went away, along with the dizziness. At some point I got tired of taking medication and having to go for doctor appts. I took myself off the medicine, only to have the attacks return. Before I left the otolaryngologist, he told me to see a nutritionist because my Meniere's was probably due to food problems. Lucky for me, I knew that celiac disease runs in my family, so I thought maybe that was my problem. And it was. The diet cured my Meniere's! After getting every last bit of gluten out of my diet, all my symptoms went away. At first, it made the ringing louder. I assume the gluten was irritating the nerve as well as contributing to the fluid filled sac in the inner ear. The irritated nerve (loud noise) within a few days subsided, very suddenly. For me, I believe it was part hormone imbalance and the gluten set it off. I haven't had an attack in 10 years, and that was after having had attacks for 4 years, very frequently. So, is Meniere's a permanent state - I don't think so for some people. I recommend to everyone to try the gluten free diet. Anyone close to me who's tried it gets MEGA relief from whatever ails them. Another food is cow's milk.
The one symptom I had was muffling coming from my eustachian tubes - I had popping and glue ear. When I got off of milk, my hearing became clear. Took 4-5 days to feel relief. The power of food is underestimated. The body is simply a machine that runs constantly and can breakdown due to many factors. Food elimination should be one of the first things tried to eliminate physical ailments (and mental). Food intolerances (like I have) are common problems. Give it a try. The pressure in the back of my head went away with the diet too.
Thank you for your question. From your description of symptoms, it appears that your symptoms most likely have appeared due to Meniere's disease, ear infection and any other ear disorder like labrynthitis so needs to checking this out with the help of a physician here. In addition, venous angiomas are most of the times normal variant of brain's venous systems and is not related to any serious impairment or symptoms. However, there is no known preventive treatment for Meniere's disease, but prompt treatment of ear infection and other related neurological disorders may be helpful. I encourage you to see another ENT specialist here to get this completely evaluated. Hope this information proves helpful to you.
I have those same symptoms...I suffer from Menniere's Disease...so those symptoms occur all the time...it's an inner ear problem.
However,I just learned a few days ago that there is one thing that can cause these symptoms that doctors never seem to check people for...and that is a stomach problem called G.E.R.D.
Look both of those up and see if they ring a bell for you.
