Venous Angioma

I am 31 yr old female, generally healthy.  Had a possible TIA in 5/02.  I am on 325mg daily aspirin.  Have had numerous test.  Had CT scan, MRI, TEE, and a lot of bloodwork.  Positive ANA.  First MRI was normal.  Had another MRI in 10/03 and Neurologist said normal except for Venous Angioma.   Said it is nothing to worry about, and will repeat in 6 months.  I have read different things about the Venous Angioma's.  I have read that they are nothing to worry about, and have also read can cause seizures, headaches, and that they can bleed.  I am just wondering what a Venous Angioma is, and what the risk factors are, if any.   Also, from what I have read they are congenital.  Why would it of not shown up on my first MRI or CT scan?  Thank you for your time.

Venous angiomas are small dilations of normal veins. They are typically present since birth. The fact that it was not reported on the first MRI can be explained in two ways. First, they are benign, and it may not have been mentioned. Second, there are slight variations between MRI's taken at two different times. When an image of the brain is taken, a picture of a certain thickness of the brain is imaged. Therefore, depending on what thickness is used, and how big the spaces are between pictures you may miss a small normal variant such as a venous angioma. I agree with the neurologist that venous angiomas are not something to worry about.

I am not sure what you were reading on the internet, but it may have been about cavernous angiomas. These do bleed and can be hereditary. Hope this explanation helps.

all you guys are lucky to find me i went through the dizzyness  nerve tension lack of concentration and some times i want to scan things some times when it happens i think i will die.i came to the states in connecticut to check my health ie my blood preasure an d heart they were okay. and then they tought it was flu i took sudafed but nothing improves, i then came backl to my country and went and visit one (fulanie) man a herbalist,near our town he told me that thousands of people are suffering from this kind of problems and he stated that no doctor or tablets can cure this and right,he then went back of his house and brought me some few leaves and told me to soak it into water drink and wash my body 2 times each day for ten days if it dosnt stop let me call him a lyer then i went on washing my body and drink twice daily and now i am the happiest man on earth i am now hundred % well i regain every thing back normal. cant you guys try and do what i did to have your your well enjoyable lifes back, i am worried about you guys so much cause if you dont do your life is gonna be in mess forever and remember no doctor can cure neither tablets i swear if would try and take what you took you guys gonna have your selves back and that is only found in Gambia,a country in west africa bless with beutifull sunshine and every other thing you can think of.

I have a cavernous hemangioma in the right part of my brain.  I am told it is two veins that crossed and bled at one point.  I have epilepsy and memory problems.  I went to a neurosugeon who told me it is too close to my motor skills to operate and that the surgery was more risky then leaving it alone.  It is an old bleed, but I am still worried that is will bleed again.  I have MRIs regularly and am about to have another one next week.  The location has caused me memory problems, less brain activity on the right side of my brain.  I have very mild (hardly noticeable) slight paralysis on the left side of my body.

My memory is getting a lot worse and I have a cloudy feeling at time in my head.  I am not as sharp when I feel this way.  It could last a whole day.

I guess I am venting here, but I want to know what my chances of my brain bleeding again and why my memory is getting worse now.  I am going for neuropysch testing the end of the month and for lots of blood work.  I feel like I am a guinea pig for the doctors.

Any help or suggestions?

I forgot to mention, on my first MRI and CT scan, they were w/o contrast.  The MRI I had in 10/03 was with contrast, this was the MRI that the Venous Angioma showed up on.  Could this make a difference?  Thank you.
