I'm female and 34. My veins on the forehead are quite pronounced now, they have turned up in the last year. They inflate really quickly and stay raised for 2 days or so. It happens right after I snort stuff. My friends do the same stuff, possibly same amounts maybe a bit less but they don't get them. The doctor said it might be due to an eroded Superior Turbinate (the very top part of the nose). If you burn out the membrane through insuffalation allegedly you can get into the brain. But why the veins? That part I could not figure out...
Intracranial aneurysms would not be visible on the forehead. It is also unlikely that the visible veins would be related to the incident you just described. If this condition has you concerned, you should consult a physician as soon as possible.
I should also add that about a year ago, I fell and hit my head right above my eye, on the side of a truck. I didnt pass out or anything. Could that also be a cause? THanks very much.

My mom had a brain aneurysim a few years ago. Do you think that it could be something like that?

There are many causes of vein swelling including venous insufficiency, heart failure, lymphedema, etc. Do you have hypertension or heart disease? Your symptoms could be related to a cardiovascular disease. It would be best if you consult a cardiologist.
