Weakness in left leg after laparoscopic appendectomy

My 18yr daughter had an emergency laparoscopic appendectomy 7 days ago and after getting home she started limping on her left leg complaining her leg feels weak but it doesn't hurt.  We spoke with the surgeon and he thinks it could be nerve related and she should wear a leg brace for a weak and stay of her leg. Should I seek a second opinion?
