What is a signal change on an MRI?

My MRI says several signal changes in white matter mainly in frontal lobe.  What is meant by 'signal change'  Is this a normal finding on an MRI.  My appt with my neuro isnt for another 2 months and im worrying

Hi and welcome,

Breath - you need to read the totality of your MRI and not just the bit that mentions something, which without more information could be something as common as the tiny micro vascular related.

IF your MRI report doesn't mention anything else these findings are likely nothing for you to be worrying about, so try not to focus on it being something when it honestly might be nothing.
